MSc in Health Monitoring & Evaluation
Objectives
Specific Objectives of the training program he contents of this curriculum should enable students to:
- Identify and engage stakeholders to facilitate the design, implementaition and utilization of evaluations
- Use different frameworks to enhance planning, monitoring and evaluation of public health interventions
- Conduct needs assessment, formative assessments and operational researches to assist the design and implementations of health care interventions
- Understand the social, economic, cultural and institutional contexts of health programs
- Design and lead the implementation of program monitoring systems including Health Management Information Systems
- Describe public health programs, including the organization of the public health system and the justification and assumptions embedded in intervention
- Design and lead the implementation of evaluations for health programs and health policy
- Promote the use of data for evidence based decision making
- Provide critical leadership in M&E to achieve sustained improvement in the coverage and quality of health programs
- Assist in the professionalization of the field of M&E in Ethiopia, Africa and elsewhere and lead the successful development of this field.
